Current Governerds bookclub read. Another one I wouldn't have read on my own, but cool to see behind the scenes into a historic campaign. As with any political book, reading with a slight "unreliable narrator" lens as politicians certainly have personal stake in persuading a reader.

Beautiful writing. I'm glad the individual chapters can stand alone, because it's taking time to make progress. It's not the book; it's me - I can feel my broken attention span trying to soak in Kimmerer's slow, attentive approach. Not mad about it.

The exercises in this book are shaping up to be quite valuable; I'm shocked at how much is coming up and wanting to be communicated. Excited about this very interesting approach.

Bizzare reading experience so far. One minute I'm nodding along at an intelligent Catholic woman beautifully integrating her family and career, the next I'm seething at skimming over Kavanaugh's confirmation as if media scrutiny isn't a fair response to credible allegations of sexual assault, and then the next I'm learning fascinating information about the workflow of a SCOTUS justice. Sharon picked us a doozy.

I've only finished the introduction and I'm already having a visceral response of recognition on almost every page; I think this is going to be worth the slow going & upwards of 700 pages. And I thought I wasn't a philosophy person.

I am learning a lot about the Spanish Civil war and I am depressed about it.
