I’m not done with this yet, but I think this will be my last exploration into Emily Carpenter’s writing. This is the second book I’ve read of hers where the main character is frankly, a fucking idiot. I didn’t remember that about Gothictown bur rereading my review, it annoyed me even more with this book.

I’m not DNFing but I’m convinced I’m reading a different book than everyone else is? I was talking to my fiance’s dad about how much of a mess this book has been and I decided to check to see what everyone has been thinking about it so far and I could not have predicted almost a 5 star rating??? My review is going to be very divisive.

Please, please, let there not be another (insert whatever emoji here) throughout the rest of this book
