I’m almost done and there is still no semblance of a final act… I can’t wait to write an essay of a review for this one.

For a book about dragons they seem to be kind of superfluous to the story. They seem to basically serve as decoration for the most part which is kind of lame.

Just because you take a bunch of normal things and give them hard to pronounce names doesn’t mean you’ve written good fantasy.

Here’s to hoping I finish this by the start of book club on Saturday

I didn’t realize how heavy this book was going to be…

So far it’s actually pretty good. I was afraid that the authors own theology and personal opinions were going to end up taking center stage but SO FAR she’s done a good job staying on topic and focusing on what Christian Nationalism is and not constantly interjecting her own opinions like one would on twitter.

I wasn’t prepared for James Bond to have smut in it…

This book’s going to get an essay of a review…

I’ve never seen a book go from a 5/5 to a 2/5 so quickly.

The first like 70 pages of this were absolute gold. Easily the funniest book I’ve read up to that point. Then they threw in a chapter that, I think, was supposed to be politically genuine instead of the satire that had defined the book up to that point. It felt like pandering and y’all know I feel about pandering. Here’s to hoping that chapter was the worst of it.

“Bond saw luck as a woman, to be softly wooed or brutally ravaged, never pandered to or pursued.”

I think I’ll just make my updates on this book every out of pocket quote that comes out of the book.

So far the sexism is not as bad as I was expecting it to be given the reputation of this series but it’s definitely there and I really hope it doesn’t get worse…

I can’t believe I’m almost done with this series. I’m so glad it kept improving after the disappointing 2nd book.

I can’t believe it took two and a half weeks for this book to come in but at least I can finally start it.
