like 10 pages in and theres already an *ahem* abundance *ahem* of john green mannerisms being checked off--

a quirky best friend and a beat up car with an unusual name!! not to mention a weirdly smart male protagonist who cant get over a girl PLUS his middle class parents who sort of care for him.
