So. Uh. Page 15, and I learned this book is Capital C Christian.

Now keep in mind, I am a Christian. But when we're 15 pages in and I get to the quote "...the Lord sometimes uses infertility to bring couples to the point of adopting, but in His sovereignty, adoption was His plan all along" ...yeah I don't think I'm going to agree with this book. Imma persevere for a bit bc I found so few options to read, but WOOF

I'm just not getting into this one like I did the first one. Which is sad! Everyone else I'm seeing says this one is so much better, but I liked exploring the world with Dex in the first one and the uncertainty of purpose, with the surprise at the end. This one feels more like just a boring explanation of exactly how their society works step by step, at least so far. Setting aside for now to come back to it later.

My 14mo got a hold of my kindle and somehow clicked the whole way to the end of this book AND gave it a measly 2 stars……check back in when I actually get a chance to read it for myself 😂🥴
