The things I do for a Travelling Book-club ... Took me almost two months to get to page 500. I can make it through the last 100 too! But please don't ask me what this book is about in the end, because I couldn't tell you.

Pseudotiefes Geschwafel und nix geht vorwärts. Fad.

Abgebrochen, weil jetzt der Schlachtenteil kommt.
Aber ich hab kein schlechtes Gewissen, weil ichs vor 30 Jahren schon mal gelesen hab. 😆

Dnf‘ed at 66%

It started so promising and I liked the recaps of the knights stories, but the main plot was not there. It meandered and I wasn‘t paying attention anymore.

Also it‘s not Enemies to Lovers. It‘s „reluctant rivals/political pawns to to lovers“.
I honestly expect more from someone how hasn‘t just written her debut.

This book should be called „The Nightmare of the main character drowning in self-pity!

I pray for a POV switch to Hex, because Coal is exhaaaausting!

Up to this point not a lot of plot.
And now that the constant fucking is starting I have seen enough. It‘s just too ridiculous.
Also my audio credit is gone and I‘m not going to pay for two more hours of „How often will you come for me, Sky?“ and „those fucking lips“.

Dnf. I just wasn‘t hooked and didn‘t pay attention at all.
I‘ll stick to John Sinclair if I want trashy magician/detective stories.

In typical Yanagihara style you could cut half the book because she loves to meander. It‘s immersive, yes, but at 40% I wonder when something is going to happen.
I really don‘t want go dnf because the premise is interesting! Dilemma.

Re-reading this series because
a) the first time round (2014) I stopped after book 3 or 4
b) I need something light-hearted, witty and original and did I mention witty?
c) London
and d) I set myself the challenge to finish all my unfinished series and obviously that means I need to start from the beginning because I don‘t remember much. Even if there are 20 books


Let‘s hope it‘s as much fun as I remember
