Trying to knock out things on my bookshelf. It’s interesting so far, I have gotten all the greek references name-wise. I can’t tell if this book is going to be a retelling of myths in a kinda modern context or if it just uses them as a launching pad for an original story.

This expands a lot more on little nuances than the movie obviously, but it really amplifies the stress of everything!

this is lowkey one of the best books i’ve ever read and i’m not even done. i usually have a recency bias but oh my god? putting aside the manic, pixie dreamgirl at the beginning, it’s horrifying how much our current society resembles this. some of it is oversimplification, but other parts really exemplify the human spirit in literature and how necessary it is to feel alive

i’m really liking this so far! it’s well-written and the story is compelling

R&B Book Club pick for April!

so far, this book has been a fairly simple read. there were a lot of pop culture references at first (which i don’t love) but it’s toned it down and started focusing more on character development. at the current point it’s at like 3.5 stars but i’m only about halfway through

I really am enjoying it thus far. I didn’t realize it was YA when I started but I can almost feel the lack of maturity in the writing style. Not that it’s a bad thing, just not as convoluted as it presents. Plot line of love triangle feels predictable, but excited to see the path taken to the inevitable or be proven wrong.

Read 1 of the 4 chapters, had to go back and restart it because I was listening to it while crocheting and realized I knew no one’s name but I had the story down😭
