oh god pls ignore all the sudden book reviews from me, I was downgrading some books I rated 5 stars a few years back. the only actual books I re until finished were orlando and secret world of briar rose

i’m invested bc this is so bad at this point, the story genuinely just stopped for a minute

we really need more editing in publishing

i’m having a hard time staying inspired to read this. every page and every scene is constantly broken up by flowery descriptions of the surroundings. it’s hard to feel “in” any scene or connect with characters because we have to stop everything to describe the colors of every flower in sight, or jump into another memory in the middle of a conversation.
