I’m 60% through and it’s scene for scene the same as Alchemised. I should DNF it, but I’m morbidly curious if it will end the same.

I didn’t really like We Who Must Die and I’m not really loving this. Every chapter is Groundhog Day. Ari’s wakes up, pisses off Raker, goes out on her own, gets attacked, gets saved by Raker, and then pisses off Raker again.

How many times is the girl going to wander off alone before she fucking learns!!!

So far my only takeaway is that Aris walks into a lot of people.

I'm pretty confident i know where this going and its going to hurt so bad.

Ok I’m pulling the plug and I’m going to DNF this, maybe soft DNF. I think the audiobook is to blame, the female narrator doesn’t add much to an already bland character and MMC is incapable of any productive communication. Don’t get me wrong I love a slow burn, but there has to be chemistry and there just isn’t. The miscommunication is too much and pulls from the story.

I’m invested in the Wren and August storyline. I like Emilio and Olivier, they are cute but I’m still trying to figure out what they add to the storyline. And poor Irene’s back must be sore from carrying her’s and Masika’s storyline. And Irene is still suspect as shit.

Well, that was almost something. Might DNF but that feels blasphemous for a B.K Borison book, so I probably won’t.

Who the fuck is Louise? I don’t trust her.
