Okay so I do like this book so far - the plot is cool and I’m liking what’s happening, but I feel like it’s trying too hard to be deep and meaningful? Avery is pissing me off with her whole ‘I’m the same girl I was, I’m so smart lalala’ vibes and Grayson is so fucking full of himself he needs to get a grip. I like Nash and Jameson, but tbh everyone else in this book is kind of weird so far.

I loved this book so much - i feel like it was way more well written than Icebreaker. It wasn’t just sex sex sex the whole time - Aurora and Russ actually knew each other and talked. What i really like about Hannah Grace is that she portrays healthy, loving relationships. However, I did feel like while it wasn’t 100% sex, it was 90% trauma dumping. Idk, just me maybe.

This book was literally amazing - Evelyn Hugo is one of my favourite characters of all time. She’s so complex and the things she says and does are so thought out and carefully planned. I loved this book

I’m really enjoying this book so far, and the explanations and stuff about Starr’s life really make sense. Also - SEVEN? WHAT. This is so cool. Obviously I’m not that far into it but I’m enjoying it so far, let’s see how we go.

Omfg I can’t actually express how good this was - i don’t know what it was about it, but I really connected with Bri for some reason - falling for someone you thought was just a friend, falling for someone you thought you never would even expect, and just daring and hoping to win. I know I can succeed, just like her. This story was so inspiring and really made me appreciate the music community. I love music.

Omg I can’t actually tell you how good this book is. It’s actually amazing. I love Bri, I love Sonny…Malik is debatable. Honestly, I don’t mind that he likes the other girl. I forgot her name but anyway. I don’t mind that. What I DO mind is when he asked Bri out to lunch, only because he wanted something from her. When HE invited HER out to lunch but she ended up third wheeling. And when he made fun of her

Ok I’m actually in love with this book - it’s so good. I love the character of Bri, I love Trey, I love her Granddaddy (her Grandma less so tho). But it’s such a good story, and although I haven’t been in her position financially before, as a musician - I GET her. I understand her. I know what she feels like, to hear a screaming crowd and love it. It feels amazing. I feel amazing. Dang. I have to make it.

Ok, I’m hooked. I don’t know what it is about this book - but I’m interested. Immediately. Within the first 50 pages, I was invested, and shit was going down. Also I swear to God those freaking bodyguards. What the actual hell? That’s so messed up. Bri better be ok. Also I love that she got out of her stupor at the Ring. If she’d chickened I think I would have cried.

So I finished it. And woah. I really wasn’t expecting to like this book so much, but I really liked how real it was - some books/authors choose not to visit controversial topics like racism and police brutality, but this book tackled it in a way that was very applicable to real life, unlike Noughts and Crosses (which I still love obviously). But this was very different to things I’ve read - and I enjoyed it.

So I’m up to part three - I actually love Chris. He’s so supportive and stuff. But yeah I’m really excited to see how this part unfolds. Since we skipped past the immediate aftermath of the hearing, I will get to see how the after effects have played out - I’m really curious. IT BETTER HAVE WORKED. THEY BETTER HAVE LISTENED TO STARR OR ELSE.

Ok so we’re up to Part II and it’s getting quite interesting - I’m interested to see what has happened in five months, because a lot can happen within that time, but nothing also could’ve happened. I don’t really know what’s going to happen for the rest of the book, but I guess we’ll see what it looks like. I really hope Hailey gets her comeuppance. She deserves it, she’s a total skank.

Omg it’s getting a lot better. I’m really excited for the action to start and for Starr to come out and tell the world her and Khalil’s story, in more than just pictures. And now I actually hate Hailey. What is actually up with her. Also Chris is amazing, I think he’s really nice and he and Starr go so well together, he’s so polite and kind to her.

I’m enjoying it a lot more now that we’re getting into the book. Also, idk what it is about this book, but I really can picture all the places that Starr mentions in the story: her home, her school, Uncle Carlos’ house, the den…yeah. Pretty good, overall.

Ok so I finished it and honestly? Great book. I like the love interests although I already love all Karen M. McManus love interests. I feel like the ending was kinda bizarre - would’ve loved Charlotte to say something other than just denying, but I do think that she did it.

Ok so here is my theory - Lila Robbins is actually Lisa Marie, which makes sense because she only changed one letter of her name. Tripp is actually Michael but didn’t know, but found out because Mr Larkin told him. Lisa Marie went to Tripp’s dad (don’t know how he’s involved yet) because she needed help from her ex who maybe could be Mr Solomon? Idk that sounds a bit far fetched though. Maybe not. But yeah.

OK ITS GETTING JUICY NOW. Also I fucking hate Charlotte Holbrook or whatever her surname is. She needs to back off, and let me play out my friends to enemies to lovers fantasy. Go away Charlotte. No one wants you here.

Bro this book is taking me so long. I’m actually awful. But honestly the murderer of Mr Larkin is the last thing on my mind. I’m consumed by the DRAMA. Why did Tripp just out Brynn as a friend? When will they date? Friends to enemies to lovers trope. It’s gotta happen.

Lol this poor book 😂 Because of school it has been seriously neglected - it took me a whole ass half term to finish just this amount. However, I am enjoying it, and I think it’s going to turn out to be a really good book. I also love how this story and the Story Family mystery exist in the same universe - I wonder if the other Karen M. McManus books are also in this universe 🤔

Haha. Too easy. That’s always the turning point. It seems obvious, until it’s not anymore. Nothing makes sense. I liked Pip’s conclusion better. I agree with her. The writers at Kill Joy are stupid hacks. She was a lot smarter than them. I liked this. An easy read, but entertaining.

Ok so here’s my idea. It’s probably way off and crazy wild but idc. Here it is. So Lizzie/Lauren is the killer. Plot twist, she’s in the rival family but took on a fake alias to get into the Remy family and is learning their secrets and stealing their money. So she killed him, and in the will she also got loads of money. And someone found the will and destroyed it. I think either one of the servants or Ralph.

Kya did it. It was Kya. Of course it was her. I can’t believe I didn’t see it before. That ending was so bittersweet…she got her peace, and Tate, too, I suppose…but I wish they’d had children. The image of Tate and Kya and their children playing in the marsh with Jodie’s children…I love that. I wish they’d had children. I loved this book. But Kya. Of course she did it. Who else could it have been?

I’m so confused. I think someone framed Tate, because that red hat sure is his. Oh wait. Shit. Jodie and Chase look similar. Wait. Is Chase not Chase? Was it Jodie. Shit shit shit. It can’t be. But Kyra wasn’t calling him…I guess we will see. I genuinely can’t figure this one out, not matter how hard I think. Well. I’m going to finish it. I guess we’re about to find out. Hang on, folks. This mystery is so confusing. It just keeps getting more and more intense. I don’t believe Kya did it now. I don’t believe Jodie did it. It maybe could have been suicide? I think Chase framed Kya and committed suicide. Maybe. Idek. But suicide makes no sense….ARGH TOO CONFUSING.

Damn. This murder mystery is hard. Either Kyra did it, or she was framed, or she knew that someone close to her was going to kill Chase Andrews (Jodie or Jumpin’ or someone) and she planted all the evidence on her so she would take the fall. I have no idea. I love it though.
