The author is very knowledgeable. The book is just stunning, but I have to be precious with it because the spine is weak for the heavy pages.

Flipped through this book and I'm conviced I need my own copy (which happens all-to-often with library books). Beautiful pictures!!!

I'm loving trying out the technique with linocut outlines and coloring in with watercolor. I really want to master this technique!

This book is so lovely! I've been practicing both linocut and watercolor. It just so happens that I'm also just a bit obsessed with wildflowers at the moment. This is an absolultely beautiful book and I'm glad I came across it at the Cedar Breaks gift shop!

I went ahead and bought this one as I was reading it on Netgalley and thought it might be fun to have a print copy so I can work on projects more easily.

I bought the book bc it's AMAZING & I'm going to need it longer than the library will let me have it. Lots projects to work on throughout the book, it's broken down so thoughtfully: Materials to use, technique, creating a dummy book. Also, it doesn't focus on digital art. I love digital art, but I was sad reading the last illustration book, bc it focused solely on digital art and maybe looked too sterile.

Just got approved by Edelweiss to read this advance reader copy and it is soooo cute!

Lots of stories about various people. I think this book could’ve easily been shorter and more concise. Finally getting to some application. I do love that this book exists!

In thinking about careers for this personality type, I have to say that Librarianship really a great career choice for people interested in everything, since we can explore our interests in programs/events.

Currently reviewing this ARC and finding it a little more critical than I expected so far. Given I do know a lot of material gets published that I question the quality of, I just don't know that I agree that the rate is so high. I'm also finding this book to read more like a blog of ramblings and opinions, when the title sounded so whimsical. We'll see how the rest of it is though before I give a final opinion.

So far a very interesting book about different artists and different types of art.

The author and I have completely different perspectives. I understand using your intuition and brainstorming to come to solve questions and discomforts in life. While trying methods, I like to have my head on straight here. Walks, artist dates, journaling, and trusting your intuition all seem to be something anyone can do without pressure to believe in anything. For myself, I view spirituality as connection and awe.

Did both pages and a walk this morning. Looking forward to my artist date this week at a coffee shop with our local magazine.

As I was reading the “walk” section I couldn’t help but feel lazy with the sun shining. So of course I had to go for my solo walk.

I know she believes her creative practices are a way to convert other people to belief. However, I spent years in a religion where conversion was the only reason to really talk to people outside the belief system. Can we just say that these creative practices are for everyone and that some feel a sense of divinity and others a sense of awe? Something that doesn’t alienate the reader?

I added an extra star since I can see myself buying this book. I think it needs an update for today’s market though.

Even though this is an older title I can definitely see the value in actually owning the book for myself. I currently have the book checked out from the library and will likely look at purchasing this book.

I'm hoping I find some books more up to date at my library. This is good for now, but of course the recommended books are a little out of date. Also, the author uses one of Aesop's fable a bit exhaustively as an example, but it does help get her points across with a story in the public domain.
