I had to DNF. It didn’t capture me.

The story is interesting but I’m definitely not dying to cancel plans and go home and read. The spicy scenes still seem gratuitous and really don’t add anything to the story or character dynamics. The spicy scenes just are a bit cringy to me.

Just finished chapter 34. I like the book and it’s a fun interesting story, but the spice seems a bit gratuitous. I was laughing out loud and saying, “whoa that’s enough.” I’m not a prude by any means, but come on… I don’t feel like some of the explicit details add anything to the story but actually make it feel more cringy.

I’m struggling to stay interested. If I wasn’t a completionist I would have already bailed.

I’m gutted. I liked this book way more than I thought I would. The book really picked up last half and turned into all sorts of twists and turns and surprises and left me utterly devastated. I’ve not had such a cliffhanger like this in quite sometime. I feel sick to my bones I don’t have the next book yet. I actually really loved this book. Odessa grew on me and towards end she was entirely a different woman.

It’s the type of book that even when you think you’re going to take a short break and come back later, if you start reading next page or next chapter, you’re sucked into it again and time disappears.

Why can’t I stop reading this book?

I’m struggling a little. I like the story but the interactions with Taly and Skye feel repetitive right now.
