was hoping for a calm, slice-of-life read and this is exactly that.. plus some quirkiness.

this is.. not at all what i expected.

my first backman. his writing style is more casual and freeform than i was expecting, but i like it

fascinating so far

this is a series of short stories and they are all lovely.

i’ll get mad all over again at the first story if i start thinking about it too long though.

whew. this is good.

there is so much history within these pages! i find myself constantly researching to build out the story’s scenes in my mind. it makes experiencing the book even better.

i took me until page 130 to feel invested in the story, and even now, i’m still constantly aware of what a missed opportunity this book is as i read..
