This is the most uninteresting description of small-town life that I have read - it is written from the perspective of someone who doesn't know anything about small towns except the most superficial observations that could be made by any traveler passing through. The most interesting and relatable character in the book is dead, and none of the other characters have the depth or relatability to keep me reading.
