I LOVE the little interjections in the story.. such first generation eldest daughter vibes. Here is their story… but can you belive it, look at it in this context because that was crazy… I just love it

I am obsessed with the storytelling! Admittedly took a minute to get used to, but is so interesting. It’s like a mystery book with how the bits of background are divulged by the family members. It’s also interesting because the writer of these family histories is a character themselves and not the author specifically!

The imagery is just intense omg

Love addiction is admittedly a new one for me. But I am loving the flashbacks for context, especially bc it’s starting to feel like a personal growth story!

I’m super intrigued by the modern mix of culture and American values. Not to mention how casually she’s explains some very seriously egregious moral issues like her emotional affairs and conversations had with a mores traditional mother.. but mom saying “good luck finding someone to love you like me” that was heartbreaking

It’s starting off slow, reacquainting the reader with where everyone is and what is going on in the world… but I’m VERY intrigued by baryan
