Beautiful display of different types of scientists. I feel like this and the parallel between Dr. Grace’s “greatest stroke of luck for humanity in history” and Dr. Redell when it comes to astrophage really humanizes Dr. Grace and his mindset with science. I feel like Dr. Redell is a beautiful display of “lost in the science sauce” of being so into his project without seeing its effect on people.

Could they have just genetically modified the gene into people? Like if it was similar to the hiv resistance gene it could be deleting parts of the gene so neurons can’t send signals to it ?? (I don’t know much of neurology and I’m avoiding looking at spoilers so this is simply my biotech brain speaking). And it would be somatic cells I assume so not ethically immoral ???
