this was an EPIC end to the chapter—i’m pretty sure these lines were used at the end of chapter one of firefight. holy. i love it.

oh my fucking god that is why firefight has so much control and why his dimension doesn’t lose sight of the world when using their abilities.

this twist would’ve been amazing if i hadn’t read it online.

right so prof seems to have inexplicably discovered their location, so… the knighthawk betrayal theory could happen.

i don’t have solid evidence or reasoning but i’m starting to think that knighthawk will betray them over his dedication to prof, somehow.

again, i have no proof of this, other than the fact that sanderson loves his plot twists and i’m not sure what other ones would come.

this is genuinely insane. there’s an epic named Lifeline!?!

so in one of my shower stories there’s an epic named Lifeline who can control plant growth by forcing them to grow rapidly in the direction in which she commands their sap. sanderson’s Lifeline has electricity powers, which would be unrelated, BUT i had another 2 characters called Conductivity and Lights Out who controlled electricity in various ways.

is this a typo?

before this session i saw a HUGE spoiler on google… and it was that larcener is calamity. are you KIDDING!? i really hope that doesn’t become a huge surprise later… i would be SO disappointed because sanderson’s plot twists are so SO good

dang megan is so cool. and larcener is so strange.
but wow megan is so powerful. i really hope she gets stronger and does these amazing literally otherworldly things without turning evil or getting headaches. i hope firefight gets an important part too

aw it’s cute that he identified tia from her cola. i wonder if he hinted at that earlier in the book and i just missed it, but i swear i had no idea he was doing this mobile-tracking thing to find tia.

like XL. i only realized because i was telling aditi that david said he was “wide as a boat and morbid as a sinking boat” and then i said his name out loud.
it’s crazy that after an entire book of david calling him fat i finally noticed after he died 💀

i thought it was just a kiss. it was. wasn’t it…?

this scene is just so crazy. like, walking into a city and seeing buildings of salt crumble as you walk past, and new ones rebuilding from nothing. and the strips of colour across the buildings. i can picture it glowing in the night.

the fact that this reminds david of the steel streets of newcago but feels unreal to everyone else is just so interesting too. i don’t know how to describe how i feel about it.

i can just picture this scene so vividly. the jeep driving into the distance, the dead plains transitioning to grassy fields with faint the city aura and moonlight giving the grass blades that soft glow, and finally, the majestic skyline of a city among the miles of dead plants and the small stretch of grassy fields.

this is such a nice exchange. i love their private conversations—the humour, random backstory and other snippets from megan, just the vibe in general.
this scene in particular has the same vibe as sitting on the trunk of a car and stargazing, i feel.

the mind-control mannequin presenting david with an incubator, the reason for the incubator…

i also really hope knighthawk doesn’t reincarnate his wife. in fact, maybe knighthawk will die.

this whole scene is so… dystopian? sanderson got the vibes spot-on. it feels creepy and as if there’s some sort of secret/truth looming above that they both don’t know about.

the obliteration bomb, epics feeling pain when their powers are used by others, twins always killing each other, knighthawk telling david he’d wake up one day and megan would’ve turned evil, casually saying prof’s lover is dead,

i just realized this strange mannequin thing is almost EXACTLY like the Inside zombies.. they’re an extension of you and does literally everything you do. while you (or knighthawk) uses it, you can’t move. it’s controlled by some sort of device.

such an odd coincidence.
