Don’t care what people say- this is some of Holly’s best work

Just gonna abridge my in class analysis:

Allué states that, 'American Psycho denounces consumerism by portraying the serial killer as the
ultimate consumer'. Patrick Bateman consumes both people and commodities with the same clinical level of detachment, describing a pair of cooked breasts as lying 'delicately on a china plate I bought at Pottery Barn' (Ellis, 331) He is the embodiment of unbridled consumerism.

I’m wanting to like this, I really really am, but it being one of Holly Black’s earliest works/ being written in 2002 is starting to show- and not in a good way :D
