The Something may be lost, but it’s presence has caused wars, and self-destruction of countless worlds.

Good book for children aged 9-10.
Basic storyline, but quite entertaining the more I read. Four children (3 siblings & 1 friend) escape unpleasant circumstances to a small nearby island. They setup house and survive, and thrive until far more pleasant circumstances occur.
