Amber Roeder is starting What We Find in the Dark: Loss, Hope, and God's Presence in Grief
I felt so seen reading this book. It is for anyone walking through any type of grief and is experiencing a dark night of the soul (a season where God feels distant). I laughed, I cried, and mostly, I learned that it’s okay to grieve and to be kind and gentle with myself as I do so. The book includes practical suggestions of how to grieve and how to remind yourself that God is close by.

Amber Roeder is starting Slow Theology: Eight Practices for Resilient Faith in a Turbulent World
I’m about halfway through, and I’m loving this book. I needed the reminder of how much God’s slowness is a blessing to us. Not only is His slowness a beautiful model for us to slow down, but I am grateful He is patient with us and is slowly sanctifying us. Our Christian life isn’t about having all the right answers now, but it’s about continuing to seek God’s heart and to come to truly know Him.

I enjoyed being in the world of Austen again. It made me want to go back and reread some of Austin’s books as some of the characters weren’t as fresh in my mind. Nice to have a different spin on a murder mystery novel.
