Initially concerned about Sapkowski succumbing to the post-Netflix show cashgrab prequel syndrome, I'm now pleasantly surprised by this account of the earliest witcher contracts of Geralt of Rivia. It's refreshing to see an inexperienced witcher make mistakes, succumb to fear and desire, and find his way scrounging for coin and facing prejudice. So far so good, and doesn't ruin any lore/timelines just yet.
