Yay I’m reading againnn. I’m enjoying myself and the lighthearted/whimsical writing style Ms. Woolf took on in this. Orlando has just become w o m a n.

This book is adorable. I’ve decided it’s good and I’m very much enjoying reading it atp. Not much plot but damn can Mr. Forster write an endearing protagonist.

I’m bored as of right now, devastatingly.

The start of part 2 made me feel soooo icky (on purpose obv) but now I LOVE where it’s headed, im tearing up THERE IS HOPE FOR HUMANITY!

Loooove a woman with style! There’s so much nuance in this book, I just keep spinning in circles. I love and hate Richard at the same time. I see some of myself in him and it’s scary but also SO enthralling.

Kelly was NOT lying when she said Ali Smith is the modern day Virginia Woolf. I’m obsessed with her style so far. I don’t really understand what or why things are happening, but I’ve already had tears once.

Reading this for British Lit after 1900 rn. Gonna start by saying I LOVE VIRGINIA WOOLF. However, I don’t think I would be able to appreciate this book nearly as much if we didn’t have class discussions about it. Her writing is SO beautiful I want to cry. It’s just that there is so little plot to hold onto that you can kind of just get through a chunk without having felt like you read anything. Upon rereading..

How is this the gayest book I’ve ever read and there aren’t any gay characters…

I’m into it. Harry is an interesting character; I think he’s my favorite as of right now. He be saying a whole lot of nonsense, but also some philosophical hard-hitting lines every once in a while. I also fear he lacks empathy in a concerning way, idk for sure yet. Also—I think Dorian is gonna die at the end??? Maybe possibly. Is it okay to make predictions in these?

I think I like it so far… I feel pretentious when I’m reading it and I can’t tell if it’s because it’s a “classic” or because the characters are acting pretentiously? Probs both. It’s very obviously well written, and the dialogue is quite captivating so I think that’s why I’m into it. I’m gonna keep reading ig

Beginning to think there might not be any more murders? No more blood spilled??? I’m not complaining, vibes are uncertain yet still enticing.

Im in the last chapter of part 3 🫣. I keep worrying that Mr. “The Voice Compels Me” is gonna do something else completely out of pocket. Things are too cheery right now and it’s weird. Ms. McCann is very good at writing a mentally unwell man. Feeling like the end of part 3 is going to be… unhinged, so I’m stopping for the day.

Okay so it’s currently 4:07am, I’ve been reading for hours and WOW. This book is fucking fantastic. It’s very much a slow burn through over half of the book, but my GOD WAS IT WORTH THE WAIT. Ive just made it to the point when our gay boys are in their little honeymoon phase before something inevitably wild happens. Im forcing myself to go to bed but I cannot wait to continue this riveting story in the morn.

Ok the people definitely weren’t lying when they said this book is dark! Ms. McCann has a beautiful writing style, but I can definitely be cryptic at times. Maybe im just dumb. Or maybe that’s what it’s supposed to feel like. Idk but im definitely intrigued…
