What a miserable “antagonist” in the intern. Makes the book unenjoyable as the main character is wilfully ignored, unsupported, and misunderstood by her mother.
Not sure if I’ll be picking this up again to finish.

This far into the book and it feels juvenile and simply written with no nuance or talent.

Ahhh, this duel is so frustrating with her drugged. I’d have much rather see it be a proper fight that was a huge struggle rather than one with one opponent compromised and the other enhanced but that’s probably just me.
I need to just push through this part, it is good though.

Yah, they’ve slipped her something and I hate that. Just have to power through this bit.

I’m really struggling with how childish the main character is. Understand they’re just about to turn 18 but still, should be 12 with how they’re acting.
