seeing a lot of stuff on insta about the tv series and a mention of a cottage. something about them going to a cottage over the summer. interested to get to that part. i just want them to start falling for each other and be done with all this hookup stuff. i’m at 2014 now and the prologue was in 2016 so hopefully things will start to change

how do i feel so invested in the characters already. also looked up the guy who plays rozanov and found out he’s american. watched a few seconds of an interview and he sounds totally different irl/no russian accent. wow

hoping it becomes a slow burn romance and not just hateful hookups bc that’s the vibe i’m getting

started reading the sample on the train as a joke. actually got into it. the fact that those are the actual montreal canadiens and boston bruins colors is crazy.
(started the disney adults book and got 20 pages in but after taking the book’s quiz i’m realizing i’m not as much of a disney adult as i thought & it seems to just be defending it rather than exploring all sides so dnf probably)

ok i figured out the twist a few sentences before it was revealed. as plot twisty as it was, it’s very ridiculous. they’ve been dating for several months & he doesn’t mention it? neither his friends? even the nice one? why say she was hiding things if she’s dead? also his friend thinking cassie was her? would’ve been a good time to tell both of them she’s dead. idk who the ex pov is then.

ok i think its about to be revealed but the way joel said “cassie…” after she tells him about francesca harassing her, i think francesca is dead and the ex isn’t her. which i already suspected the last part but not the dead part

another mid read update: i don’t think the person calling cassie is the ex (whether or not that’s francesca idk) bc the ex never mentions the calls and isn’t she a bit preoccupied trying to keep joel safe? shouldn’t her messages bc more like “i know what you’re hiding” to scare her? like why are they all sexual slurs

mid read prediction: could zoe somehow be the ex? it would explain how the bookstore got vandalized since she has a key, and right now she said she wants to go to an early lunch. is it to meet up with her detective cousin? i looked at the previous chapters and it says they were roommates in college and that she has a bf. so. idk where i’m going with this

lydia is so mean smh. i wonder if there’s more to why she’s like that

also i think zoe may have something to do with this. but joel didn’t recognize her when he first came into the shop and met cassie? but idk why include her character so much if she’s not hiding something

mid read prediction: francesca isn’t the ex pov. it’s someone else. there must be more than one ex. they never mention her name in that pov i don’t think. unless they do idk

mid-read update/prediction: he said his last relationship didn’t end well. maybe whitney is the friend of his ex getting revenge. or maybe he killed her

didn’t read much today but i’m gonna lock in tomorrow bc i’m (maybe) getting my hair braided tomorrow!! so excited. i still think my prediction is true. also blake will definitely give in to whitney and either sleep with her or do something cheating-adjacent with her. ew

mid read update/prediction: i think whitney will be the one to kill krista, since quillizabeth only said she saw blake crouching over her body, not actually stabbing her. whitney did it and escaped so quillizabeth only saw them in her vision. also makes sense that he would be crouching over her, probably in shock/sadness

i thought blake was a woman for the first 20 pages. wasn’t until he made the comment about women taking forever to change that i looked back and realized krista called him mr. vice president. oops. has freida mcfadden ever written a book with a male mc? she’s done dual povs i guess but it usually always starts with a woman. already 50 pages down which is a good sign. need to reach my 20 book goal
