finally got off the waitlist for this audiobook so have to listen

the lore comes out in rivendell 😨😨

just finished the first half. the writing is rich, but the traveling and nature descriptions become a little tedious, especially before they get to Bree. the plot really picked up once they arrived at the prancing pony and met Strider, and danger became much more imminent. i am glad that maps are included in the back of the book. lots of the imagery of the barrow downs and stone ruins reminds me of ireland
