I hear people wondering where all the “good guys” have gone? Well here’s one. Sam feels authentic and humble as he weaves his present day adventure in the wild with flashbacks of earlier days/events that made him the man he is today. Surprisingly vulnerable. No shameless name dropping or braggadocio.
Also, making me homesick sigh 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿

I am in love!

I’m trying really hard to gain some kind of momentum with this book. I don’t know why. The writing frequently amazes me with its simple yet profound thoughts and ideas. Perhaps it’s because I am admittedly not ‘one of them’ or perhaps because despite the clarity of thought, I find processing the emotional heaviness challenging.
