I’m in a constant state of nostalgia and I yearn to read all the books from my childhood.

I remember reading this book when I was 8 or 9 and how much it left a mark on me. I remember thinking, “13 year olds can get married? Is this real?” That’s when I learned about child marriages and arranged marriages in general. I saw this at Goodwill today and grabbed it. It’s been over 20 years but I’m looking forward to reading this again.

This was one of the first classics I read as a child. At the time, it was just the Great Illustrated Classics version and for years, I believed I read the full text. I’m finally reading the original text and I’ve never felt so eager.

A Christmas book in August because I yearn for the holidays.
