i’m too excited for this one—i know it’s probably not gonna speak to me as well as ronnie spector’s be my baby (my new favorite book in the world, by the way) but as a beatles fan who’s bias (lol, i love calling any favorite member of a group i love my bias, korean or not) is george harrison, i can’t wait to read this-

tucking in your wife with a doll is lowkey weirdo behavior, whether she still slept with dolls into adulthood or not

i definitely believe phil killed someone, knowing what i know about him now through this book

phil was such a player hater

okay so if you’re in the greater houston area, you neeeeed to make ur way to the book attic

i literally got pattie boyd and ronnie spector’s biographies for less than $10 in two days????????

okay but where are those pictures of that groupie getting buckwild with that beatles roadie that was supposedly taken at this party????

i’m obsessed with her now, i hate when i find out and fall in love with a new inspiration after they pass away-

she was the most famous black woman in the world at one point and this book is telling me that if i keep believing in myself, i could get some of what she had-

i’m light-skinned, conventionally attractive, and musically passionate too—can i be one of her sons, like zendaya??🤞🏽

she hasn’t even gotten into her situationship with the beatles and i already wish i was her-

because what do you mean the book i had been eyeing on ebay that was $20-100 was down the street from my house for $8.50??

that book was made for me—i will be the ronnie spector of techno, and i will make her proud!

i can’t wait to see what zendaya has in store for her biopic with a24—she’s producing it with the director of moonlight, which is one of my favorite black-directed films of all time!

ronnie and i have a lot more in common than i want to give myself credit for

i found a first edition with the foreword by cher and introduction by billy joel for $10 at my local used book store the day after scouring ebay all night, looking for a copy that was less than $50

this book was made for me and it’s the last “splurge” for me before i stop buying goodies and saving money—i wasn’t going to buy anything, actually, but seeing this book told me that it was made for me

ik i’m slacking on my reading but tbh reading about filmmaking is genuinely so interesting and these essays are incredibly educational

i’ve learned so much, i need to watch a couple of these too

got it at the library looking for books on music

i was falling asleep trying to read more but i haven’t slept

also, i enjoy the writing style—it’s written like a british person wrote it

my mind is doing that thing again like it did when reading belle de jour and crash where all i can envision is david bowie in that space in my head where the book manifests itself when i start to hear the music

it also doesn’t help that the description of thomas is literally just a copy of david bowie’s medical records

my boyfriend got my mom the complete in-box out of print criterion collection dvd of the david bowie adaptation in an ebay auction and the boxset came with a copy of the novel

ugh being surrounded by cinephiles and being able to watch avant garde films with my friends and family is why i wake up in the morning
