This is similar to the Kendra Donovan series

Just getting into the story. I’m listing g to the audiobook and am admittedly slightly put off by the narrator’s unfamiliar pronunciation of some words.

This book, like the first in this series, is going to be a “project”. It is quite long and I’ll read when I have a chunk of time because once I start I don’t want to stop!

Add to the list of ridiculous words used repeatedly: cad.
Am I the only one that finds Nora completely, totally unlikable??

How many times can the 30-something unmarried department store owner, Nora, be referred to and described (sometimes by herself) as a spinster???

Chapter 19-why am I still reading this? I guess it's because I've recently read some reviews of this book and a few of them said the ending is a blow-your-mind, you'll never believe how this ends kind of ending. I'm thinking that maybe I should just go find a review with some spoilers so I can move on!!

Chapter 9-this is turning into an absolute shit show. From going to her doctor saying she's pregnant to figure out if she's had a hysterectomy, to freaking out in the school library, knocking a bunch of books on the floor and then PULLING A FIRE ALARM, providing "instant camouflage" to get away from the librarian and principal. This is just getting more and more ridiculous!

Chapter 4, this escalated quickly. So most of this book so far has been the main character freaking out-she has no memory of a serious event that happened, which leads to the discovery of more things she doesn't remember, and a bunch of decisions that don't make a lot of sense...unless you're having a breakdown of sorts, I guess.

On hold until I can borrow it again

I'm not really that far into this book, but is it just me or are there strong hints of To Kill a Mockingbird in this story?? Maybe some of that will fade out the deeper into this story I get.

I just don't know if I can finish this. I'm so close to the end and I've renewed it twice from the library (thank goodness I didn't buy this!), so I feel I should, but I don't want to. Parts are good, which is why I'm still reading, but it seems like there are many more parts that go into soooo much detail that is unnecessary, in my opinion.

ok, it got more interesting, maybe not better, but more interesting. This book is frustrating me!

I'm having a hard time getting into this book. Maybe it's more that I'm having a hard time caring about the characters because I don't really like either of them. Also I don't much like the 'flow' of the book, with each chapter alternating between "His" side in the present, and "Her" thoughts from the past, from a diary. But, I've heard about a surprising plot twist towards the end, so i guess I'll keep reading.

Slow getting into it, can only read so much at a time before I've had enough...not an all-day read for me

So far it's OK, but I can't read much at a time.
