Isaac is 50% done with Blood Meridian, or, the Evening Redness in the West

Gave it til the half way point but DNF.

I can understand justifications for this book & arguments people will have with naysayers, but the gratuitous nature of its brutality & unwaveringly unpleasant vibes just made for a book I could not get into.

Some of the lines are incredibly beautiful standalone but as a whole I really am happy to leave it unfinished. A shame!! Especially since I loved the road.
