The school needs funds to help with paying for the chess tournaments such as housing etc

I learned more about the school and how it was named one of the best schools basically perfect

I learn more about the characters including the principal etc

Today, while reading the book, I gained a better understanding of its characters.

I learned that the chess champion of the club, Sal, has a massive ego. Sal states in the book, "I don't have time for this," while pointing out all the "newbies" in the chess club.

I am on page 4 of Game of Kings. I chose this book over my interest in chess, and the Game of Kings book is filled with thrilling events from the chess world.

Just hit page 100, and wow—this book is totally gripping. Watson does an incredible job bringing the courage and struggles of the Freedom Summer activists to life.

As the narrative unfolds, we see the effective tension between the idealistic adolescents volunteers from the North and the harsh realities they face in Mississippi. The bravery of those young humans, who arrive inside the South with goals of changing the arena, contrasts sharply with the hostility and danger they quickly encounter.
