in the 20 pages i’ve read, i’ve cried three times. sometimes it feels so heavy to be a black woman. i’m grateful nonetheless. but oh my, ms. morrison, there is so much grief and hurt in the paragraphs. it’s all so vivid too. the grief feels palpable for sethe, because it’s all around. i already love her character, and denver too. poor baby.
i’m excited for this read but i need to brace myself.
