Writer elaborates how Christianity gained traction due to 1) giving identity to ethnic, sexual and class minorities in the Roman Empire and 2) Due to breakdown of family structure 3) Due to urbanization 4) Good organisation of the church 5) The heterogenization of the Mediterranean area.

Tldr mystery cults, christianity grew due to urban ethnic heterogenization causing a lack of identity.

Excellent explanation on why Xtianity is spreading rapidly in Africa (political/economic) and how it relates to failure to convert Japanese ppl (no economic/pol incentive, strong ethno-religious Shinto group thinking, urbanized inner class).

Interesting to read that the sea peoples, contrary to populair opinion, were mostly migrants pushed out of central europe in search of better land. The Philistines likely were a mixture of native Canaanites and the Aegean and north Italian Sea Peoples.
