I opened the page and the hopes of John Green wishing that this book would be read after the pandemic had died down is insane. I had this book on my shelf for the longest time before picking it up for the new year. As my first pick on my first Goodreads reading challenge, I’m pleasantly surprised by these essays. Such mundane or fantastical things made understandable and touching to read.

I read a few more pages and took my time to annotate while on my flight to Denver. The experience of writing in the sky is so surreal because the background visuals are slowly changing, mainly because of the sunset. It was great to reflect my most immediate thoughts at the end of the chapter about lying. It felt so freeing!

I recently read a passage out loud to my friend AJ and I think chapter two resonated with her. I really liked sharing that moment with her. I feel like we are true best friends. I am so grateful for her. Really loving this book and how relevant it’s principles are to my life in its very moment.
