This book is triggering me😭. I’m feeling way too close to her, similar to when I read transcendent kingdom

So far, I feel like certain parts of this book do fall into stereotypical fantasy cliches but I think that after the halfway point it’s going to get fucked up so VERY excited for that. I was very drawn in from the beginning but did not love the pacing. Wish I was more into the world building but I might just not be smart enough or know enough history so certain things may be going over my head.

Really loving this ! But v dense and emotionally overwhelming :(

Such a necessary read ! currently reflecting on her discussion of our need to ‘humanise’ victims of police brutality and how we cannot look to other people particularly oppressors to grant us our humanity and how this resonates in my life as a woman in terms of agency

This is such a painful read for me wtf
It’s painful in the ways life is painful and I also hate the pacing
It’s written really well but it’s making me a bit miserable 😭
I also cannot believe this is not a memoir like the way she uses such niche experiences to talk about this family

Really glad I’m finally reading this
This is really making me think about the reflections of ourselves that we see in other people like the quote thing in front says
I didn’t think I would like it but I love the writing style
Where internal monologue and dialogue kind of mesh together
Reminds me of the perks of being a wallflower

I was really into this when I just started it , my interest is starting to wane BUT I loooove when a theme is echoed throughout the book and I’m really enjoying the writing as well
It’s not profound and emotional but just very descriptive in an apt way
Thinking about marion’s hunger for significance and the way the intimate scenes are described as hungry
Just interesting !
