I am having to readjust my expectations on this book again.

Not much time to read, but I am enjoying. Have met Uredd, a stand up...er, troll, and Stump, a dragon masquerading as a turtle masquerading as a rock (it's a long story). I had to reset my expectation of this book--it is much more a children's book than I initially thought. The writing is somewhat rough, but the story is engaging and enjoyable.

Sometimes, in the course of human endeavors, it becomes necessary to lay aside a good book for a compelling reason. Yup, that's what happened. I've started reading The Priest again, and I mean to finish this time!

Trite dialogue and too much exposition.

Writing improved, but now there's explicit sex between 12-year-olds... really?

Florid, overwrought, and flawed... soldiering on.

Something finally happens at 74%, and then stops; back to idling.

A story begins to emerge at about the halfway point and a plot shortly after -- lukewarm, so far, and thin as dental floss. I'm waiting for something to happen.

The writing is fine, albeit pedestrian. No discernible plot yet, just whining people--adults and kids.

Interesting... convoluted
