There are photos in the book but they are useless - just stock images

Whoa - for any father out there. Did you know young girls often compete with one another to be the skinniest there is? and post photos of themselves online looking skinny?

Vincent is on page 58 of 235 of The Waxman Report: How Congress Really Works
Probably one of the best things I have read so far in this book is about the strong friendship Waxman had with Rep. Bliley. There is far too much mistrust among the parties today and Waxman's outreach is one of the things that has made him so effective.

Finally Crawford talks a bit about the beauty of riding one's motorcycle on the Blue Ridge Parkway at a high rate of speed and appreciating the pure rush of joy that comes as you pull out of a turn.

Had no idea that it was so easy to walk away from a fortune of the Baskin Robbins empire in exchange for a life in Canada eating beans in a one-room cabin

It would be nice to know the name of his motorcycle shop and the think tank he ran before pitching it all.

Vincent is on page 40 of 352 of Highest Duty: My Search for What Really Matters
Book opens with some insight into what made Sully want to fly as a boy.
He also tells us that he packs light, listens to Green Day and Natalie Merchant on his Ipod and commutes from California to Charlotte NC every single morning.
He freely admits he's missed half his daughters lives.
Whoa

Ruth does these "all about books, which are introductory in nature and an easy way to get an overview. Nice reminder early in this one. The ocean is 7 miles deep in some places.

Hume seems to derive an unusual pleasure in reciting the sordid details of a sex scandal involving Al Capp, the cartonist, and Peter, from Peter Paul and Mary. His calling card is Jack Anderson's Washington Merry go Round

Everyone says this guy is the new Faulkner but I am not sure that works. There is little story to hold onto here - mostly just description, which is very dead-on and effective.

Never knew there was a genre called "crush films" and that dudes fantasized about being crushed underfoot. Insects play the part instead.

Very incredible narrative of walking through back alleys of China's second tier cities and finding men crazy about cricket fighting. His detailed look at how owners make their bugs ready for a fight is awesome.

very excited to start this but immediately somewhat disappointing because the quality of the images is fairly poor. Black and white and very small. I understand why but frustrating anyway. A narrative on how a species of wasp uses it stinger to paralyze a bug or worm and lays an egg on it so the baby has something to eat when it hatches.
