Sophos, you are such a goober and also I love you.

Obviously this book demands an immediate reread.

Third time through this one and still much that I don't remember. It's an intense read, there is so much happening, so many little threads, so many broken people. I keep thinking that there is a lot to learn from this book. Things about prejudice and human nature and duality and diplomacy and bridging cultural differences... A lot of things.

I'm not sure I'll be able to finish this one. It's heartbreaking. I watched the film and liked it, but the book goes into a lot more depth and a lot more detail about trauma and abuse. This is an important subject, but it is dfficult reading for me. Some of the stories leave me feeling physically ill at the injustice and trauma faced by these individuals.

Adding to our history study for this month. So far it seems a good overview, really keeps the attention of my middle grade learners

This is our current history spine. It is engaging, though dated, and some of the biases of the author's time certainly come through. It makes for good discussion, though.

One of our current read-alouds. This series is very silly, and honestly is getting a little bit tiresome to read aloud, but the kids are still enthralled by the mystery of the Incorrigibles.

Intriguing, but so far not my favorite of N.D. Wilson's work. Lots of allusions to Treasure Island. I'm wondering how much of -this- plot is going to mirror -that- one.

Rereading for the millionth time. I love Bradbury's use of language and the rhythm of his writing. This book is still relevant and still beautiful.
