I was already on the fence with this book when the author (white) was like “all Indians look the same, after all” when someone thought the Indian fmc looked identical to her adopted Indian daughter. I mean she’s not really wrong but also that’s not something you say, especially regarding context and that it didn’t need to be there

Oh I hate it when authors use the verb “growl”. Are you a dog? Use your words!!

Good god SOMEBODY needs to tell Shannon that she’s not the smallest thing in the world. Five feet is NOT small, it is around average.

So Johnny is three years older than Shannon??? And then talks about how she looks like a child??? And still mentally undresses her?? This feels borderline illegal
