I absolutely love this book.

It’s been a long time since I have read a book that suits my taste so well. I have to write an analysis on this book. I just have to.

She deserves a Nobel prize.

The plot is becoming ridiculous.
I am probably not capable of appreciating this kind of book because when I’m supposed to be happy seeing the two flirting with each other, I am constantly worried about the female character’s paper and the protein samples which she should have taken care of instead of flirting.

Reading it as a challenge since i am too puzzled about why a book like this can be a bestseller.
Well, the book is not as bad as I thought, but I won’t buy any romance book after this.
A big problem with the book is, even if the professor is not your advisor, you still can’t date him! I don’t see how this can even be ethically acceptable. But it does reflect realistically how miserable life PhD students have

Creta Kano’s story and Lieutenant Mamiya’s story are my favorite parts of the book. Can’t help but wonder if Creta and Okada will actually go to Crete. Idk it feels like Creta will go but Okada won’t bc he wants to talk to Kumiko…and then something horrible will happen but Okada will overcome it with sheer luck just like Creta when she is supposed to lost herself when defiled by Wataya.

May Kasahara…I didn’t expect

On page 212, I was slapped hard on the face by Eloise. I was tricked and utterly furious about the plot. I am not surprised though, but actually hearing Eloise say those things just ignite the fire of anger in me. I mean if we take her words seriously, then I can also call myself a ‘virtuoso’. I don’t like the story and whatever the message is.

In this story, the protagonist is similar to the ones before, unable to control how the story unfolds. They get themselves into a mess without realizing it. At the end, we can’t help but wonder if all the scenes and mess can actually do anything to them. Truth is, although the events occurred in the story may seem unnatural and exaggerated or even significant, it does not change the life of the characters at all.

Another awkward couple to read about…but I rly do want to go to Malvern Hills after reading this

In Come Rain or Come Shine, Ishiguro tossed the emotions of the reader like a piece of clothing is being tossed around in the washing machine.

Even tho the dialogue is long and boring to the point where I want to give up reading this book, after reading the story it would linger in my head for a very long time. I can’t quite figure out what Ishiguro is trying to convey, and his words just haunt me in my daydreams.

Beautiful story. But the pace is as slow as it was in the Unconsoled. I also feel like Ishiguro is trying to make the reader feel bad for the characters deliberately - the plot is sad for the sake of being sad

The hearts of Asians break when reading this book

Recommended by a friend, got some pretty good points

I like the story of the Canos, and want to know more about Toru Okada’s wife. But the part about watching bald men is a bit boring tho.

I didn’t see that coming !
