Luc’s voice is kind of losing momentum it feels like. The words and expressions he uses often fall flat.

So far it looks like it will be chronological. I think I would have liked/will like it better if it weren’t, I think it would have worked better for the story too. We’ll see.

It’s a slow start. It helps the chapters are short. I don’t think I could have managed this style in longer chapters. Identifiable feelings and perspective of social awkwardness and introvert. I am looking forward to the English landscape and Marnie and (I forgot his name, like Marnie did) Michael to get to know each other.

Het doet me denken aan Maggie Nelson’s Bluets, anecdotes rondom de kleur blauw. Het taalgebruik is soms wel moeilijk en ouderwets, dat haalt me er geregeld uit. Maar er zitten ook prachtpareltjes van zinnen tussen, als glinsteringen op de deinende golven.
