Love it! I love the action descriptions. The way the author writes I can see such a vibrant image in my head like it’s a movie.

The healthy communication, boundaries, and relationship in this manga is SO refreshing. Love the slice of life vibes. Book 11 going into Itusomi’s passion for helping under privileged children was so sweet. He’s got a good heart.

This is will be my next book purchase

Interesting talk about how national high IQ promotes higher IQ for all, how the breaking of the Berlin Wall let free exchange and freedom for both West and East Berliners

Love that it is talking about the historical facts of the positive effects of immigration caused in the 20th century. And that the first restrictions were racism based, against the Chinese or Europeans thought less than. I wonder if it will go into that the minorities thought of as ‘white’ now; were NOT white then (Jewish, Italians, Irish,). My Mormon pioneer ancestors benefitted from open borders (Mexican Utah)

I had no idea this play is what “a pound of flesh” is from. I thought it was just from that Matthew McConaughey movie

Loving it so far! As I want to be an archivist for my career, I love this being integrated. Love how Ximena has good and bad qualities, how her and her sister have different ways of coping with survival and trauma. Interesting what they will do with De Leon, bc he is a Grade A nepo brat right now. X is far stronger than me…a broken nose or a slap would be so satisfying.

I’m loving this book. Looking into some of the books, they aren’t the best reviewed so I don’t have a desire to read them (but that doesn’t stop the problem of them being banned). It’s interesting to see why different sides of the political spectrum want banned books. I was flabbergasted that someone wrote a children’s book about George Washington’s slave happily making him a birthday cake. Suuuure.
