Fascinating. Many references to the area I used to live in Illinois.

Loving it so far and it’s hard to put down.

The author needed to spend more time developing the complex societies and creatures before jumping into the action. I read a lot of fantasy and I am having difficulty imagining what some of the characters look like and the chapters jump from one character to another.

The cover makes you think this is a beach read, but this is so much deeper than that.

I really enjoyed the intensity of the first books in the series. Domesticated Matthew is rather boring. The plot conflicts, so far, that could have pushed the characters to show themselves or help them develop have all ended with a fizzle.

So far the book has been a lot of talking and not much action. The third book in the series and I am getting bored.

A post WWI historical fiction set in England. The topic of the fate of German English citizens, wounded soldiers, and women who worked during the war are addressed. The story overall remains light-hearted even with the heavy topics.

This is going to be a DNF. Being a teacher, I was excited to read this book advertised as hilarious and incisive. I did not find the humor, but could relate to characters and events. However, the story just didn’t hook me.

I am already impressed with the quality of writing!
