I love the many dynamics of this novel so far.

Love how much character development & description there is.

I’m glad that Circe has a lot of character development. I felt pity for her at the beginning but I’m glad that’s starting to change.

I really enjoy the progression of this mystery. The story reads really well & has an opening of the characters with an illustration of their town. I haven’t found myself thrown off track or confused at all, & the path of the mystery takes great twists, turns, & revelations. If anything, I’m very impressed with the character development of each of the characters.

Heart currently bleeding for Circe.

I feel like this has a lot of similarities to other cultural horror that we’ve been watching since the 70s. I didn’t know what a final girl was until starting this book, so I think I was a little more interested in the context of their meetings & backstories compared to someone away of the “final girl” trope.

I like the darker twist is turned. I feel like it explains the basics of magic & finding your own power part of it. I think it’s important for people who are interested in magic to know that it really is within themselves. I feel like this book is full of hard to explain & learn concepts that we are learning today as a society. A cultural shift.

I like the progressiveness of the themes it goes over. I feel like this book investigates both otherworldly & local issues going on to continue the investigation of the main conflict.

I love existential novels. The stream of consciousness (or even lack there of, technically) is so perfect. If you liked “The Stranger,” this is the modern existential novel that will get you back into reading classics like that.

I love how it started quickly with the plot & the turmoil with her friend. The illustrations are fun to interpret along with the story.

I love how Nancy Drew this is, since the main character is a journalist/ works for the local small town paper she’s doing the work asking questions & actually trying to get to the bottom of things, respectful.

I love how this ramped up so quickly! Very Desperate Housewives crossed with Nancy Drew & I’m so excited to continue the mystery!

I have never had so many twists go back into a circle before. There’s so much happening!

I like the way it’s written with alternating perspectives of the 2 characters each chapter. It gives great insight as to how they really feel. I’m excited to learn what other things unravel between the two. Once the story starts rolling, you never know what you’ll get next chapter.

It was slow & grim to start, but once the plot started to ramp up it became a page turner.
