So far, this book has touched on everything I, a Black American woman, have always wondered, felt, and secretly hoped for. This book dares to ask ‘what if’ questions that extend our futures far beyond the violent white-centered dystopian novels praised in the literary world.

COAA is a real page turner so far. The imagery that Tomi Adeyemi uses is phenomenal. The storyline at the moment is thoughtful and one I am invested in. Without giving any spoilers, I found myself emotional with the dialogue between Zelié and other main characters. I am excited to see where the rest of the story goes and how it all ends for our beloved Maji.
