One suprising part of the book was when Katniss and Peeta were willing to both die. Two people from the same district can win this year, but they got rid of the rule so they decided if they both die the games would not have a winner and could not work. "Greetings to the final contestants of the seventy-fourth Hunger Games the earlier revision has been revoked. (342). This was a part I did not see coming.

The announced that you and the other person from your district could win the Hunger Games together. “The news sinks in. Two tributes can win this year.” (244). An internal conflict that Katniss struggled with was Peeta's betrayal. Katniss came to realize Peeta was faking his friendship and love after she found out he was working with the Career Tributes. This made Katniss mad because she thought he was a very nice person. "I almost fall out of the tree. The voice belongs to Peeta." (160). I'm intrested to find out how this affects Katniss.

One funny part was when Katniss was supposed to be judged by the Gamemakers. They only paid attention to the dead pig on the buffet table and ignored her. Katniss wanted to prove to the Gamemakers that she was smart and deadly but they were only interested in the dead pig. "That I'm being upstaged by a dead pig" (101). This was a hilarious thought that made me laugh.
