Starts with a bang and goes on from there!!

So cool. Set in my hometown, right down the street from my house.

Culper Spy ring is deeply woven into our history. Can’t wait to read this charming tale!!!

The language is melodic, the writing draws readers into this tumultuous world.

Written in third person, the is history/biography maintains a focus on Angelica.

My copy arrived yesterday. OMG, it’s beautiful and engaging and so much more.
If you are interested in the Arts & Crafts movement, in women in the late 19th and early 20th centuries and how they wield needle, thread, paint, and more, get a copy and dive in.

So far, it’s a 3 out of 5.
I am bored but working my way through this one for a book discussion tonight.
We’ll see if it gets better.

How powerful are ghosts that haunt blackberry grange? Can you slip back in time and not get caught? Is it all in her head? Or is something nefarious going on?

A very readable book that sheds light on the fabric swatches pasted within this diary.
Author shares the history and / or biography of those who wore the garment.

And there’s even something about the history of 19th century textile technology.

This mystery picks up when #1 ends.
Full of familiar characters and a charismatic house.
And there will be a murder during a murder mystery play. Can’t wait.

And a murder mystery with ghosts. It’s getting better:)

An intense ghost story bordering on horror, starring teens and family who inherit their grandfather’s house.

Okay, I’m hooked and can’t put this one down. A romance with a huge dollop of spooky.

OMG, I have forgotten how terrifying this book is. Listening is even more scary in today’s world.

All of a sudden, the book picked up and the subplot reared its head. Now I want to keep reading

I feel like I’m in an Austen novel.
Clever.
The author captures the Victorian mores and customs of the post Civil War era.
Charming

After a few starts, i am ready for a lovely tale set along the Chattahoochee River in the lazy summer time. Romance is sprinkled throughout

Once the story gets going, it’s amazing.
The mystery promises delight, as the tale draws you in.

Two timelines , one present, one beginning in 1910 and running toward the present.

It’s okay. The writing is disjointed and sometimes frenetic.
The story, while sensational, reminds me of some of the gruesome murders in early 1800s England.

Fictionalized true-crime/mystery.

Fascinating. The beginnings of public health and industrial medicine in n early 1900s. Think “The Jungle” but car industry.
Can’t put it down

First novella intriguing.
The second is twisty and needs a family treee, mabe at the tale’s end.
Can’t wait to read number three!

As preposterous as Scalzi can yet. Love the tongue in cheek humor.

Why am I reading this so closely??

Fascinating read about Montana, the depression, Copper and Lumber kings/workers, and a library in a railroad car.

Loving the bit about the FWP (Federal Writers Program) and American Guides.

A must read for book and library lovers.

What fun. Story told from 2 POV, one a teenager, the other not much older.

Loving this one. May have to get my own copy.
Filled with history, travel, and so much more. The writer just grabs you. Now I know why it won an ALA non-fiction book award in 2024.

I keep getting stuck and putting the book down. Such a shame since I usually enjoy Chiaverini's historical fiction.

It starts out like a Downton Abbey tale (downstairs mainly) then veers off.
I'll keep on trucking....

It's okay, but I'm having a hard time getting into the story. Loved the first one, so hoping this is as wonderful. No joy yet.
