I gotta love a young adult thriller

This was not what I was expecting

I appreciate that I’ve been listening to this book, because I don’t think I would have made it this far with sitting down and reading it. A lot of it so far has been a bit hard to get through, because I genuinely didn't care and just wanted the main story to get going.

The first chapter I was so completely confused, but I’m getting a hang of it now

I do think its interesting when adults write college students (everyone does have a different experience) because I feel like there are some things that aren’t quite accurate (I’m being incredibly nitpicky)

This has been some of the most beautifully haunting depictions of ptsd and war trauma. I get so incredibly angry and frustrated at every “there’s no women in ‘nam”. I also deeply appreciate all of the quotes from real nurses from the field.

If you haven’t read this, I highly encourage you to do so.

I love it when the narrator finds something out at the same time as the reader does. It makes such an interesting conundrum

This is a really nicely written book! I’ve been burning through it, and it’s just plainly such a fun time

It’s very similar to howls moving castle but also unique in its own ways, which is wonderful. If you have the desire to read about a whiny sorcerer and a no-silly-business girl who cleans the house, you would love it

Mild spoiler but this is one of the first times that I’m kind of okay with erasing the memory. I think it’s a cheap writing device a lot of the time to relive an experience with the characters, but this one was used well. At least why he got his memory removed makes sense to the plot and the themes of war

it was kinda lagging at the beginning, with how similar it was to the little mermaid, but honestly I am having a lot of fun with it

This book has taken me a little too long to read. It has been so good as a premise and a wonderful read, but it reads really really slow. I am just looking forward for it to be done, which is never something that I like.

This is… actually so good. The prose is fantastic, the world building is STELLAR. I wanted a goofy romance but this is genuinely so well done.
