i’m rereading this book 💥💥💥🦅🦅🦅🦅🔥🔥🦅🦅🦅🦅💥💥💥💥 it’s for my Humanities Fellowship, and boy oh boy is it gruesome and gross- so many thoughts about it forever

i’m absorbing this book so slowly but it’s pretty okay. i’ve been told it’s really rushed considering it’s not a series, but it’s fine.

ok, so, i’m reading this for a college course that i’m a part of because of my fellowship, and i genuinely don’t know what i’m getting into. McCarthy does not use quotation marks and it keeps throwing me off. this book is okay, but i’m hoping i’ll get used to it enough to at least like it a little

i’ve only read the introduction this is awesome

Cal and Aron are so silly, but the whole mom thing with Aron and Abra is so weird. so so strange. reminiscent of Sam and Liza tbh. terrified. get me out of here.

i love this book so far, but god is the world building frightening - bro literally goes “mushroom dwellers!!” followed by “oh yeah, mushroom dwellers are x!”

he is so real for that but i keep getting worried i’m missing something until he describes things in detail.

but also, another aspect of his world building is really cool because he uses Dradin as the vehicle of it- anyway i’m normal about this!!

i am sobbing and bawling my eyes out. this book has made me cry at least 4 separate times. i have never been so attached to characters in my entire life.

i read more, so i like it, clearly, but i NEED to read The House in the Cerulean Sea :(

guys i don’t know why i’m still reading this i need to finish it so badly
