Why is she surprised A put her on the blacklist? Their very first interaction was basically A saying, that if she didn't agree to the job, A would make finding another job hard... OBVIOUSLY A blacklisted you, girl???? TALK TO HER, this back and forth is so unrealistic, 8 years in prison and you haven't demanded to know the reason for the original betrayal? Makes the MC feel spineless imo.

Eh, the story has a lot of potential but it's triggering one of my biggest writing pet peeves: characters saying each other's names in every other line.. no human speaks like that, PLEASE STOP writing dialogue like this. It reminds me of Riverdale, does the author think I will forget the characters' names from one page to the other? 🙃 Would you not be freaked out if sone Keith saying your name? 😅

Urg her writing is SO GOOD. I know exactly who both of these characters are and somehow I feel empathy for both of them. It is so interesting to see this dynamic from the young girl's perspective as she truly believes she is chasing him. Oh god, it is all kinds of fucked up but in an entirely (unfortunately) realistic way. She needs a psychiatrist yesterday (the MC, not McCurdy)

I will get through this and get out of this reading slump

Honestly, I can already tell this won't be a high rating. The writing is incredibly boring and flat, I keep feeling like I could skip entire paragraphs without missing anything other than trivial conversation about food combinations. I feel like this would be a lovely anime series, though. I will try to finish it as I bought the book on an impulse.

I feel like i'm reading very slowly, but I'm enjoying it a lot.
